It's International Women's Day, and here at Threecolts, we're buzzing with excitement. It's a special time to honor the incredible women among us—those trailblazers who've not only excelled in their careers but have also been pivotal in propelling Threecolts forward. This year, we're taking a moment to dive deep into their stories, sharing the ups, downs, and all the in-betweens of their journey.
Here we dive into the personal and professional journeys of Threecolts' remarkable women. Their narratives are a celebration of the power of community in shaping a more inclusive future.
Meet Almira Baglar, our Senior Product Manager based in London. Her journey is a testament to the power of determination and innovation.
Before joining Threecolts, she led the AI department for a tech-based non-profit and immersed herself in educational programs and AI for Social Good projects. This role not only marked her transition into tech but also allowed her to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in her field.
"Transitioning from an academic environment to a more business-oriented role was a milestone."
Her work in AI, sponsored by giants like Google and recognized at prestigious conferences, was a proud moment. Yet, it was her shift to industry applications that she cites as a true milestone—it blended her academic expertise with real-world impact.
When asked about women who inspire her, Almira doesn't point to a single individual. Instead, she highlights the collective influence of her past and current female colleagues.
Their resilience and grace under pressure have left a lasting impression. "I was fortunate enough to work with great women who became my managers, peers, and juniors," she shares, showcasing the strength found in supportive networks.
Almira's advice is refreshingly straightforward—maintain a strong work ethic, embrace sports, and don't sweat the small stuff. Her career advice? "Don't take everything so seriously; pick your battles."
Almira believes the tech industry's evolution, particularly with remote work, has opened doors for women from diverse backgrounds. She champions the idea of leveraging different lifestyles, management styles, and work approaches to enrich the sector.
Almira envisions a future where women are recognized as equal participants in the workforce, excelling individually and collectively.
"Just keep excelling as individuals and be recognized as an equal participant [in] the workforce."
Almira's story is more than just a career highlight—it's a narrative of embracing change, fostering inspiration, and envisioning a more inclusive future in tech.
Andi Waters, a standout Customer Champion from Wisconsin, brings her advocacy and impact to the forefront at Threecolts.
Coming from a background at the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Andi has seamlessly transitioned her passion for justice and community service into the tech world.
Andi's work before Threecolts, especially her efforts to address sexual assault on campuses and tackle untested evidence kits, underscores her commitment to making a difference.
"I spent a good chunk of my career at the Wisconsin Department of Justice, which prepped me to enter into the tech world."
Andi finds motivation in those around her, notably her supervisor Krissy, who she describes as "one of the kindest, considerate, generous people I’ve ever known." This admiration for her colleagues fuels her drive to succeed and contribute meaningfully at Threecolts.
Andi emphasizes the importance of belonging and confidence, urging young women to push forward. She says, "You belong! Don’t let imposter syndrome take over your outlook while starting your career. You are qualified and will find a good fit in the world."
She advocates for more inclusive spaces in tech, highlighting the unique perspectives women bring to the table. "Being a woman in tech is hard … but we want our best minds working together to achieve great things, no matter your gender." This is just a glimpse of Andi's spirit that she brings to the industry, championing change and diversity every step of the way.
Andi dreams of a world where women play a central role in addressing major global challenges, from the climate crisis to poverty, showcasing the transformative power of women in tech.
Through her advocacy and unwavering dedication, Andi is a living example of the impactful roles women can play in tech and beyond. She inspires us all to take up space and make our voices heard.
In this next section, we turn our spotlight to the women at Threecolts who not only lead but also pave the way for the next generation of women in tech and finance. Their achievements and contributions show what is possible when determination meets opportunity.
Elise DeCamp, our Head of Acquisitions in Miami, stands out for her remarkable achievement in the venture capital world—a sphere where women have traditionally been underrepresented.
Elise highlights a stark disparity in the industry. Her achievements serve as a powerful reminder of the work still needed to bridge the gender gap in the world of finance.
Elise draws inspiration from her mother and future mother-in-law, both of whom have excelled in finance and tech while maintaining a vibrant family life. Their ability to balance professional success with personal fulfillment encourages Elise to pursue her passions with the same fervor.
"They tackle both parts of their lives with the same excitement and intensity," she shares. Elise admires their commitment to community involvement, emphasizing that their actions reflect a profound concern for everyone else, in addition to their personal and professional lives.
To women embarking on their careers, Elise offers this piece of wisdom: "Feel the fear and do it anyway." She emphasizes that overcoming fear is the gateway to achieving one's goals.
She also shares a pivotal piece of advice she once received, "Get comfortable being uncomfortable." According to her, it’s important to embrace the discomfort that comes from growth and the unexpected challenges that come with taking risks.
Elise envisions a future where women are not only equal participants in the workforce but also leading figures in tech and finance. She aspires for her future daughter to have more female role models in these sectors, too.
"When my daughter reads the business books on the bookshelf, I want her to be able to picture herself in their shoes. That takes work from both men and women to elevate female leaders in the workplace."
We couldn't agree more.
Elise is an inspiration to women everywhere, proving that with determination and hard work, anything is possible. She continues to pave the way for women in traditionally male-dominated industries and encourages others to do the same.
Pavleta Hristova, Threecolts' Financial Controller in London, embodies the essence of balancing a high-flying career with the demands of motherhood.
Pavleta's proudest moment came when she was juggling studies for her ACCA, working as a consultant, and caring for her newborn son. "Looking back, I really don't know how I managed, but I am glad I did," she reflects on this period of her life. This experience taught her the invaluable lesson of balance and hard work—a legacy she hopes to pass on to her son.
Inspired by the strong and hard-working women in her life, Pavleta has always been surrounded by examples of perseverance and kindness. This includes her mother, grandmother, and best friends.
"The one quality that they all possess and makes them really stand out is the ease with which they live life no matter how difficult it is," Pavleta shares. According to her, the support she received from these women fueled her drive and determination.
Pavleta's message to young women starting their careers is to embrace the ups and downs.
"Do not fear failure; embrace it. As hard as it is, the best way we learn and grow is through hardship."
Her perspective is that resilience is a pathway to growth. After all, you can't have a rainbow without a little rain.
Highlighting the strengths women bring to the industry, such as empathy and a "get it done" mentality, Pavleta believes these qualities foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
"Encouraging open communication, recognizing achievements, and providing equal opportunities for growth can empower women to thrive," she asserts. That’s why she envisions a workplace where women's contributions are fully celebrated and leveraged.
Looking ahead, Pavleta aspires for women to occupy 50% of C-level positions and board directorships.
"I am lucky enough to be part of an organization with 50% female representation in leadership; however, the industry average is sadly below that."
She also hopes to see a stronger culture of women supporting each other in their professional endeavors.
Pavleta Hristova's journey is a powerful narrative of navigating the complexities of career and family. It just shows the potential for all women to excel in both realms.

This is why our last interviewee urges the next generation to embrace their strengths, face challenges head-on, and carve their own paths with conviction.
Rali Romanova, our Head of Quality Assurance in Bulgaria, stands as a leader and visionary. Her experience at the IT department of Vivacom (one of the biggest mobile operators in Bulgaria!) laid the groundwork for her professional growth.
She managed a QA team amidst challenging conditions and tight timelines. This journey through tech and quality assurance showcases not just her expertise but her commitment to fostering growth, both within her teams and herself.
Rali emphasizes the importance of authenticity and dedication. Her approach underscores a vital truth: success is as much about understanding your value as it is about the work you put in.
Rali encourages young women to step out of their comfort zones and seize opportunities, even when they feel unprepared or intimidated. Her philosophy is a reminder that growth often lies on the other side of fear.
Highlighting the unique strengths women bring to the IT industry, Rali points out, "Communication skills, multitasking, and attention to detail are key strengths women bring into the IT industry." She believes in leveraging these innate abilities to foster innovation and adaptability in the fast-paced tech environment.
Looking ahead, Rali envisions a future where women are not just participants but leaders in the tech industry. Her hope is for women to continue breaking barriers, achieving recognition, and opening doors for the generations that follow.
"But the woman who gave me the most strength and motivation to be strong and make my dreams come true is my daughter. I hope that one day I will be for her a woman she admires."
Rali's message is a powerful call to action for young women starting their careers: to embrace their strengths, pursue their ambitions with tenacity, and build a future where their contributions are recognized.
As we reflect on the stories shared in celebration of International Women's Day, it's clear that the journey toward gender equality is both inspiring and ongoing.
